Duke comes off the double-bye as the ACC's hottest team as it takes on Pitt in a conference tournament quarterfinal on Thursday.

Duke (23-8) had its ups and downs in its first season under coach Jon Scheyer, but the Blue Devils finished with a six-game winning streak to secure the No. 4 seed for the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament and the coveted double-bye to the quarterfinals. On Thursday afternoon, Duke takes on fifth-seeded Pittsburgh (22-10) after finishing 14-6 in conference play, in a tie for third with Clemson and the Panthers. Kyle Filipowski averages 15.0 points and 9.2 rebounds for the Blue Devils while Jeremy Roach scores 13.1 points per game and Dereck Lively II blocks 2.3 shots. Blake Hinson paces Pitt at 15.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest, Jamarius Burton drops 15.7 points and Nelly Cummings averages 11.3 points.

The Panthers blew a 15-point lead against the tournament's No. 13 seed, Georgia Tech, before righting the ship for an 89-81 second-round win at the Greensboro Coliseum on Wednesday. Burton finished with 21 points and eight assists, Federiko Federiko added 19 points and eight rebounds and Greg Elliott dropped in 16 points.

Duke closed its regular season with a 62-57 win at North Carolina on Saturday night behind 22 points and 13 rebounds from Filipowski. Tyrese Proctor added 13 points while Roach and Mark Mitchell each scored 10.

The Blue Devils are 15-8 all-time against Pittsburgh and have won the last two matchups, including a 77-69 win in Durham on Jan. 11 after trailing by 12 early in the second half. Filipowski had 28 points and 15 boards for Duke and Burton put up 16 points and six assists for the Panthers.
