On Wednesday night, fourth-seeded Cincinnati will take on Utah Valley in the third quarterfinal of the NIT as the two teams hope to move on to the semifinal round. The Wolverines made it to the Elite Eight after beating Colorado 81-69 in the Sweet Sixteen on Sunday to improve to 27-8 on the season. Trey Woodbury led the team on the scoreboard with 25 points, while Justin Harmon added 18 points to the stat sheet. Both men led the team in rebounds with seven apiece along with Aziz Bandaogo who also had 12 points.

The Bearcats made it through to the quarterfinal round after beating Hofstra 79-65 on Saturday to bring their overall record to 23-12 this season. Landers Nolley II led Cincinnati in scoring with 20 points in the win. Viktor Lahkin, David DeJulius and Ody Oguama were also in double digits with 16, 15 and 14 points, respectively. Oguama pulled down a team-leading 11 rebounds to go with his 14 points and earned a double-double in the win.
These two programs have only met once before dating back to 2010. In that matchup, the Bearcats picked up a 92-72 victory.
