Williams became a household name in 2021 after coming off the bench replacing Spencer Rattler and leading a comeback win for Oklahoma against Texas in the Red River Rivalry. At one point, Williams was the No. 2 betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy before the offense struggled down the stretch.
USC’s record in season openers is 96-24-8 with 36 shutout victories including a 68-16-7 record at home and fifteen consecutive home season-opening wins.
This trip to the Coliseum for Rice is the program's first since 1948 and their first matchup against USC since 1971.
