The team's only loss of the season came against then No. 3 Iowa, but the team bounced back to win six in a row with the most recent being a 25-7 win over No. 9 Michigan last week. Bubba Wilson and Nash Hutmacher were the only two Cornhuskers to drop their bouts against Michigan, but the rest of the team pulled through to bring the team another victory.

The Nittany Lions remain perfect this season at 10-0 overall and 7-0 in conference meets for not only the top spot in the Big Ten, but the top spot in the nation. The team's most recent time on the mat resulted in a big 35-3 victory over Rutgers on Monday at home. The team won nine of ten bouts against the Scarlet Knights with the only loss being a 9-6 decision for Aaron Nagao at 133 against Rutgers' Dylan Shawver.
Penn State is 6-2 all-time against Nebraska and have won six in a row. The Nittany Lions' most recent win was last season in a 21-13 victory.
