The toughest conference in college wrestling takes the mat in the Big 12 Championships on Sunday.

Heading into the finals of the Big 12 Wrestling Championships, the tournament has been filled with upsets and lower seeds advancing. There are just four matchups in the finals between top two seeds in the 10 finals Sunday and one match that does not feature one of the top two seeds in the weight class. This season has been filled with surprises for the Big 12 all the way to the championships today and heading into the NCAA Tournament that is right around the corner. Each team and individual wrestler will look to build momentum in the finals today heading into the NCAA Tournament.

One of the most surprising matches on the schedule today is between two freshmen in third-seeded Ty Watters from West Virginia and fourth-seeded Jordan Williams from Oklahoma State in the 149-pound weight class. Williams upset top-seeded Casey Swiderski in the semifinals to get to this matchup.

The showdowns between top-seeded wrestlers feature top-seeded Daton Fix from Oklahoma State vs. second-seeded Evan Frost from Iowa State in 133 pounds and top-seeded Keegan O’Toole from Missouri vs. second-seeded David Carr on the Cyclones in 165 pounds.

Top-seeded Parker Keckeisen from Northern Iowa vs. second-seeded Dustin Plott of the Cowboys face-off at 184 pounds and top-seeded Wyatt Hendrickson from Air Force vs. second-seeded Yonger Bastida of the Cyclones at 285 pounds. All of those top-seeds outside of Fix are also the top ranked wrestlers in their weight class in the country.
