ABC has expanded its New Year's slate to kick off the countdown to 2024, which began on Wednesday night with The Year: 2023. In the special, Robin Roberts hosted the program joined by her Good Morning America co-anchor George Stephanopoulos, along with World News Tonight anchor David Muir, 20/20 co-anchor Deborah Roberts, Nightline co-anchor Juju Chang, ABC News Live Prime anchor Linsey Davis, chief meteorologist and chief climate correspondent Ginger Zee, Lara Spencer of GMA and multi-platform reporter Ashan Singh. The look back at 2023 focused on major events and newsmakers of the past year. Roberts said in a statement that this year “has been a consequential and defining year culturally, socially, and politically. The Year: 2023 will key in on the challenges that drew our attention this past year, and also what united us and reminded us of the common humanity that connects us all.”
