On Friday night, Discovery will bring another new spinoff show to its lineup with the premiere of America's Backyard Gold. According to the network's description, "Gold mining veteran Dave Turin journeys to unexplored gold regions in America to uncover centuries-old mining mysteries and help everyday miners find their golden paydays." Known most for his role on Discovery's Gold Rush, Dave Turin will begin this new role on the network after receiving his own spin-off on Discovery called Gold Rush: Dave Turin's Lost Mine. In his self-hosted show, Turin revitalized old mining operations using his years of knowledge of mining gold.

After seven years on Gold Rush and four years on Dave Turin's Lost Mine, Turin decided to branch out in a different direction to remove himself from the high drama, high stakes business of gold mining. Turin decided to trade in the stress for some fun after his show was canceled and will bring fans this new rendition of fortune to the average American's backyard.
The show's first episode titled "Rivers of Easy Gold," will bring Turin to California. In recent years, new gold has been uncovered in California due to heavy storms and flooding. From picking nuggets out of rivers, to metal detecting rare gold worth millions, Dave Turin shows you how and where everyday miners can find it.
