How to Watch Japanese Grand Prix Practice 1: Stream Formula 1 Live, TV Channel
The Formula 1 scene shifts from the harbor front in Singapore to the famed figure-eight layout at the Suzuka International Racing Course in Japan. Practice for Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix begins on Thursday night (Friday local time). The Suzuka Circuit was built in 1962 and first hosted Formula 1 racing in 1987. But the event was canceled each of the last two years because of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Red Bull Racing comes in with six straight victories on the circuit this year, the first five by driver standings leader Max Verstappen and the most recent, last week in Singapore, going to Sergio Pérez.

Valtteri Bottas, then with Mercedes, is the defending champion at Suzuka, winning in 2019 to break a run of two straight race wins on the circuit by Lewis Hamilton.
The Suzuka Circuit is a 3.608-mile figure-eight, with a three-quarter mile straight on the back of the course crossing over the front section via an overpass. Hamilton set the race lap record there in 2019 with a 1:30.983 clip around the course's 18 turns.
Verstappen's run to a second consecutive Formula 1 title hit a hiccup at Marina Bay last weekend, as he finished seventh as Pérez, and the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz reached the podium. Verstappen still owns a commanding 104-point lead over Leclerc with just five races remaining.
