Seven of the top 10 women's golfers in the world step onto the course today in The Colony, Texas for the LPGA Tour’s Volunteers of America Classic. There are only five tournaments left on the calendar after this week before a champion will be crowned in the Race to CME Globe standings. The top-ranked player in the event this week is Brooke M. Henderson, who enters as the second-ranked golfer on tour with two wins and nine top-10 finishes under her belt in 19 total tournaments played, one of only four golfers with more than one win this season. Top-ranked Minjee Park is not in the field, giving Henderson an opportunity to take first place with a strong week of golf starting today.

Atthaya Thitkul took the last LPGA Tournament in an exciting finish that resulted in playoff holes and an epic duel.
Entering the tournament, Lydia Ko (+850) is the favorite to win this week as the third-ranked golfer on the tour.
Also in contention are Thitkul (+1200), Nelly Korda (+1200), Henderson (+1400) and Nasa Hataoka (+1400).
This event has been in action since 2013 with Inbee Park winning the inaugural event and Jin Young Ko winning the most recent event last year. Park also won in 2015 to become the only golfer to win this event more than once.
