The PGA Tour returns to action today at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida, as 12 two-player teams battle over 54-holes for a share of over $3.5 million in prize money. The 7,288-yard par-72 gold course, designed by Greg Norman, plays host to the event for the 22nd consecutive year. Noticeably absent this year is Norman, along with defending champions of the event Jason Kokrak and Kevin Na, who defected to LIV golf this year. In their place, the tournament invited two LPGA players, Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson to appear alongside 22 players from the PGA Tour. Korda and Thompson, ranked second and seventh respectively, played well in the LPGA Tour’s season finale three weeks ago.

Last year, Korkak and Na held off Sam Burns and Billy Horschel by one stroke winning with a score of 33 under par, splitting the first-place prize of $895,000. Their final round score of 60 followed an opening round of 59 as four teams finished the event at 31 under par or better.
Today’s first round is a scramble format, while round two is a modified alternate shot, and the final round is four-ball.
Horschel this year has teamed up with Jason Day and will tee off at 10:45 a.m. ET. Other notable pairings include Corey Conners and K.H. Lee, Charley Hoffman and Ryan Palmer, Steve Stricker and Cameron Young, as well as Max Homa and Kevin Kisner.
Homa won the first event of the 2022-23 PGA Tour season in September at the Fortinet Championship at Silverado Country Club in Napa County, California, and is the only member of this limited field who has a tour win this season.
