Right-hander James Kaprielian starts Tuesday for the A's. He is 3-5 in 17 starts with a 4.32 ERA. Kaprelian has won his last two starts, including Wednesday at Anaheim when he allowed a run on six hits in 5.1 innings.
Ohtani is making his 19th start of the season and is 9-7 with a 2.83 ERA and 1.038 WHIP in 105 innings, while striking out 152 batters. The right-hander has lost three straight starts, including Wednesday when he surrendered three runs, two earned, on seven hits with seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
