With the second best record in baseball, the Mets start a three-game weekend series against their division foe.

After taking two-of-three off the National League West division leading Dodgers, the New York Mets tonight begin a three-game series against the visiting Washington Nationals. The Mets lead atop the East division is now at three games over the Atlanta Braves and with 16-straight games against teams with a record below .500, they can potentially wrap up the division title in the next few weeks. The Nationals come into this series winning three of their last four games including a walk-off win yesterday against Oakland.
