How to Watch Pirates at Mets: Stream MLB Live, TV Channel

The New York Mets look to get back on track after getting swept when they host the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The New York Mets will be looking for a pick-me-up when they start this series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday night. They are coming off a series sweep at the hands of the rebuilding Chicago Cubs, which was supposed to be a series that helped them create some padding between themselves and the Atlanta Braves. Instead, Atlanta is only half of one game out of first first place in the National League East division. Look for Pittsburgh to attempt to play the spoiler role this weekend just like the Cubs. With playoff implications on the line, this is a crucial game for New York.

Chicago completed the sweep when Mets starter David Peterson was pulled after only recording one out.

The Cubs won 6-3 after scoring all of their runs in the first inning. The Pirates, meanwhile, won big against the Cincinnati Red 10-4. Rodolfo Castro hit a three-run homer and Oneil Cruz hit a two-run homer to help the Pirates win comfortably. It helped them take a four-game series sweep against their division rival.

The Mets will try to get back on track by starting Carlos Carrasco who is 14-6 with a 3.80 ERA. The Pirates will start JT Brubaker who is 3-11 with a 4.36 ERA.

This might be the best shot for the Mets to end their losing streak.
