How to Watch Cubs at Marlins: Stream MLB Live, TV Channel

The Cubs look to snap a three-game losing streak after surrendering three home runs in a loss to the Marlins.

A week after sweeping the National League East-leading New York Mets, the Chicago Cubs are now enduring a three-game losing streak the night after Wade Miley gave up a grand slam to Bryan De La Cruz to spur a 10-3 home win for the Miami Marlins. Tonight, in the penultimate game of the six-game season series, the Marlins go for their fourth win in six games as the end of the regular season looms. The Marlins will start veteran right-hander Pablo Lopez (9-10, 3.99 ERA), who is in search of his second win in as many starts. Lopez threw six and two-thirds innings on Thursday allowing only four hits and two earned runs in a 5-3 against the Phillies.

The win snapped a two-start losing streak for Lopez and tonight will face the Cubs for the second time this season after being saddled with a loss in a 4-0 defeat at Wrigley Field back in early August.

The Cubs will send Adrian Sampson to the mound looking for his second straight road win having shut out the Mets through six innings of two-hit ball last Tuesday. Like his counterpart, Sampson lost his only start to the Marlins in early August.

Cubs third baseman Patrick Wisdom leads the team with 22 home runs this season, but is mired in a nine-game homerless streak and has just one hit in his last 23 at-bats. Wisdom is 0-for-7 against the Marlins this season.

Last night’s home run for De La Cruz was his tenth of the season and his second career grand slam which coincidentally came against the Cubs in August of 2021.
