On Friday night, the Cubs trailed 4-2 going into the sixth but scored three to take the lead. After the Pirates tied it up, Esteban Quiroz hit a go-ahead single in the eighth to give the Cubs the win in what was an entertaining game.

The Cubs are now a win away from winning their second straight series as they continue to play better baseball as the season comes to a close.
The Pirates, though, will be looking to slow down the Cubs and even the season series against their rivals. The Pirates trail the Cubs nine games to eight overall this year and can win the season series with two wins over the weekend.
On Saturday, the Pirates will send Johan Oviedo to the mound looking to get the win. Oveido has won just one of his three starts since coming to the Pirates from the Cardinals.
