With their 10-0 win on Saturday, the Jays posted back-to-back shutouts for the second time this season.
They also turned the trick at Kansas City on June 5-6. Boston hadn't been blanked in consecutive games since the A's did it to them in April 2019. Teoscar Hernández homered and Danny Jansen had a homer and five RBI in the win.
RIght-hander Kevin Gausman will close the series for Toronto. He is 12-10 in 30 starts with a 3.30 ERA and 1.235 WHIP while fanning 201. Gausman allowed two runs in six-and-one-third innings against the Yankees on Monday while getting no decision.
The Red Sox will give the ball to Michael Wacha. The right-hander has made 22 starts and is 11-1 with a 3.06 ERA and 1.095 WHIP in over 123 innings of work. Wacha is coming off his worst start of the season on Tuesday, surrendering six runs in three-and-one-third innings against the Orioles.
