Harvick is 35 points off the cutline in 16th place after the first two playoff races while Busch is two points behind 12th-place Austin Cindric and 11th-place Tyler Reddick. Aric Almirola grabbed the pole, the first Ford driver to start in the top spot at Bristol since Greg Biffle in March 2012. Saturday's race is 266 miles — 500 laps — and 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson took the checkered flag here last September, fending off Harvick by 0.227 seconds.

The first two playoff races were won by drivers not in the postseason mix. Erik Jones crossed the finish line first at Darlington on Sept. 4 and Bubba Wallace picked up his second career Cup Series victory on Sunday at Kansas Speedway.

Briscoe will start on the outside of row one on Saturday night, with Alex Bowman and Hamlin making up rwo two. Larson and Ryan Blaney are on the third row, with Harvick and Bell on the fourth. Rounding out the top 10 starting positions are Cindric and Brad Keselowski.

Regional restrictions may apply.
