Cole Custer picked up the win last week on the Chicago Street Course after starting on the pole and leading the most laps throughout the race. That was Custer’s second win of the season, both in the last four races where he also finished sixth and ninth to rocket up the points standings. Now, Custer enters this race in third place overall with 594 points, just 44 points off the leader.

John Hunter Nemechek is the points leader this season with 638 points and is coming off a second-place finish last week just behind Custer.
Nemechek is one of four drivers with multiple wins through 16 races with two. He is tied with Custer and A.J. Allmendinger (who is ineligible for Xfinity Series points this season) with two wins. Only Austin Hill has more with three, all coming in the first five races of the season including a win on this track in the RAPTOR King of Tough 250 back in March.
Hill has found his rhythm after a mini-rough patch with seven straight top-eight finishes.
