Both teams are 7-8 and still fighting for their playoff lives. The Vikings and Packers are both on the bubble of the NFC playoff hunt with Minnesota holding the eighth seed while Green Bay is sitting in the ninth spot. If the Vikings win they'll have a 48 percent chance to make the playoffs while the Packers will have even better odds at 55. Both teams need the LA Rams to lose to the New York Giants to improve their standings. Minnesota is trending in the wrong direction now though as the team has lost four of its last five games. The only game the Vikings have won in that span is a 3-0 barnburner against Las Vegas.

Minnesota is coming off a 30-24 loss on Christmas Eve as the Detroit Lions won their first division title in the process since 1993. Vikings QB Nick Mullens threw for a staggering 411 yards with two touchdowns but the four interceptions was too much to overcome. If Minnesota gets a handle on the turnovers, they have a good shot at defending home turf on Sunday Night Football. Rookie Jaren Hall is slated to get the start over Mullens tonight.
The Vikings are only one-point favorites at home though and that might have something to do with Jordan Love. He is starting to come into his own as the franchise quarterback as the Packers are turning around their season. Green Bay is coming off a 33-30 win against the Carolina Panthers that avoided a three-game losing streak. The Packers won on a Anders Carlton field goal in the final seconds to narrowly fend off a hughe Carolina rally. This matchup against the Vikings couldn't feel any closer. This one is a coin toss with many playoff implications.
