Sidney Crosby eyes a milestone as the division-leading Penguins skate into Edmonton to face the struggling Oilers

Unbeaten in regulation this season, the Metropolitan Division-leading Pittsburgh Penguins head west tonight in the second game of a five-game road trip to face off against the Edmonton Oilers who have yet to find any traction in the season's first two weeks. The Oilers have lost three of their last four games and thus far have not found consistency in its offense coming off their first shutout loss of the season Saturday night against St. Louis. The Penguins' top-ranked scoring offense is averaging 5.2 goals per game and their defense is allowing 2.2 goals per game, fourth best in the National Hockey League.

Veteran center Sidney Crosby leads the Penguins with 10 points including a team-high seven assists through his first five games. Crosby enters the night one assist shy of 900 for his career and two assists shy of passing Bryan Trottier for 19th all-time in NHL history.

The Oilers are led by center Connor McDavid who has posted ten points in five games this season. McDavid posted a hat trick on opening night against Vancouver and tallied three assists in Thursday night’s win over Carolina. The bad news for the Oilers is those are the only games the team has won so far this season.
