The game was tied 2-2 early in the second period, but that is when the wheels fell off for Toronto. Ottawa scored four unanswered goals, as Brady Tkachuk scored two goals to lead the Senators.

The Capitals have momentum coming off a 3-2 win in a shootout against their biggest rivals, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Nicklas Backstrom scored the game-winner in the shootout to avoid Washington losing three in a row. Alex Ovechkin got the first goal of the night on the power play. Washington will likely need more offense though to pull off this upset.
