In the second leg of the qualifier, Rangers pulled off an improbable comeback winning 3-0 after goals from James Tavernier, Antonio Čolak, and Malik Tillman in the game. It ended up winning the aggregate 3-2 to advance.

PSV Eindhoven took on A.S. Monaco in its qualifier round. In the first game, PSV struck first with a goal from Joey Veerman in the 39th minute. However, PSV allowed Monaco to strike even in the 80th minute.
Entering game two with a 1-1 aggregate, PSV took the early lead with Veerman scoring again in the 21st minute. Monavo scored in the 58th and 70th to go up 2-1 before Erick Gutiérrez evened it up in the 89th minute. Luuk de Long scored in the 109th minute of overtime to win the game and the aggregate to push PSV forward.
