The Citi Open tennis tournament continues today with four semifinal matches: two women's and two men's. The women's semifinals will feature two star-studded matchups that have navigated their way to this place. Daria Gavrilova will take on Kaia Kanepi. Gavrilova beat Rebecca Marino in the quarterfinals to advance winning 13 out of 19 games to win the match. Kanepi beat Anna Kalinskaya. Despite losing the total games played, Kanepi took the match to advance. The second women's semifinal will be between Xiyu Wang and Ludmilla Samsonova. Samsonova beat Emma Raducanu and Wang beat Victoria Azarenka to move on.

The first men's matchup will include Andrey Rublev and Japan native Yoshihito Nishioka. Nishioka upset Dan Evans in the quarterfinals despite Evans having double-digit aces. Rublev took on J.J. Wolf and won easily. Rublev has slowly shown that he is the player to beat in the tournament.

The last semifinal of the night will take place between Mikael Ymer and Nick Kyrgios. Ymer was able to get the best of Sebastian Korda, while Kyrgios upset American Frances Tiagoe to advance on.
