On the men's side, No. 2 seeded Spaniard Rafael Nadal will be making his second-round debut against Croatian Borna Coric. Another player making his second-round debut on Wednesday is No. 4 seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas, who will be going up against Filip Karijinović. Meanwhile, No. 10 seed Jannik Sinner, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Tuesday with a first-round win over Thanasis Kokkinakis, will be facing Miomir Kecmanović in the second round on Wednesday.
On the women's side, world No. 1 Iga Światek will be making her second-round debut with a match against American Sloane Stephens. Światek has had an extraordinary first half of the season by winning six titles, including her title at the 2022 French Open, the Pole's second-ever Grand Slam crown. Światek has struggled as of late, however, bowing out of Wimbledon in the third round, followed by losing in the quarterfinals in Warsaw and in the third round of the Canadian Open.
Meanwhile, Canadian Open champion Simona Halep will be facing Veronika Kudermetova in other action in the women's singles bracket on Wednesday.
