Jadeveon Clowney agrees to 4-year, $22 million deal with Texans

No. 1 pick Jadeveon Clowney agreed to terms on a four-year contract worth $22.272 million with the Houston Texans, with a team option for a fifth year, according to the team.
Clowney will also receive a signing bonus worth $14.518 million dollars along with the full guaranteed deal, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. The league's current collective bargaining agreement has a rookie pay scale included, which has sped up the process of negotiating draft pick's contracts.
Clowney has been attending organized team activities this offseason despite not being under contract. The team has said it will be moving the former first team All-American defensive end to the outside linebacker position to better suit defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel's 3-4 scheme.
