Ole Miss defensive end Robert Nkemdiche left the team’s game against Memphis in the second quarter on Saturday after sustaining a concussion while being usedas an offensive player.

Nkemdiche lined up as a fullback for the Rebels on third-and-one at the Memphis ten-yard line and was stopped at the line  of scrimmage by the Tigers defense and laid face down on the ground for several moments after the play.

• Oklahoma’s flight to Kansas State delayed over eight hours

The play was Nkemdiche’s fourth rushing attempt of the season for Ole Miss. The defensive star also has one reception for a 31-yard touchdown this year.

Ole Miss later confirmed that the junior has suffered a concussion on the play, according to The Associated Press.
