UTC’s Chris Malone expected to be new Old Dominion OL coach

Tennessee-Chattanooga offensive line coach Chris Malone is expected to be the new offensive line coach at Old Dominion.

Tennessee-Chattanooga offensive line coach Chris Malone is expected to be the new offensive line coach for Old Dominion coach Bobby Wilder, according to a source.

Malone has spent the past two seasons in his position at Tennessee-Chattanooga. Before that, he was the offensive line coach at Virginia State for a year following seven seasons as James Madison’s offensive coordinator.

He was the Virginia Military Institute’s offensive line and tight ends coach in 2005, Massachusetts’ offensive line coach from 2001–04 and a graduate assistant offensive line coach at his alma mater, Virginia Tech, from 1999 through 2000. He got his start in coaching in 1998 as Fork Union Military Academy’s offensive and defensive line coach.

Malone was an offensive guard at Virginia Tech from 1992–95. This past season Old Dominion had a 5–7 record under Wilder in the program’s second year as a full FBS member.

Wilder has a 57–27 mark in his seven seasons with the Monarchs.
