LSU quarterback Joe Burrow catapulted himself as the clear frontrunner to win the Heisman Trophy after a dominant performance in a 46-41 victory over rival Alabama. Burrow threw for 393 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another 64 yards on the ground. LSU stormed out of the gate to a 33-13 lead at halftime. But when Alabama cut the deficit, Burrow led back-to-back touchdown drives and converted four third downs. SI’s Amy Campbell muses that we may look back on this game and say this was the moment that turned the tide the college football.
