Worthless Predictions
Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck :: SI
Since everyone is giving out their NFL playoff/Super Bowl predictions, here are mine. I need to warn you, though: These will be terrible. My real skill is picking over/unders (on a good pace for a 5-1 record in this year's MLB picks), which we will do Thursday. Anyway, here's goes nothing:
AFC East Champ: Patriots
AFC North Champ: Ravens
AFC South Champ: Colts
AFC West Champ: Broncos
Wild Cards: Texans, Chargers
NFC East Champ: Redskins
NFC North Champ: Packers
NFC South Champ: Saints
NFC West Champ: 49ers
Wild Cards: Seahawks, Falcons
Super Bowl: 49ers over Colts.
The AFC is not that good this season, and the obvious pick would be either New England or Denver. The Patriots should have six wins alone in their division, but I believe losing Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez will hurt them. As for the Broncos, I just have a hunch they are due for a step back after a 13-3 season where everything went their way. As for the Colts, I'm on the Andrew Luck bandwagon. I've heard a lot of people say they will take a step back this year. I think they take a step forward.
In the loaded NFC, I could see six teams in the Super Bowl. I think getting to the Super Bowl and losing the Super Bowl will help the 49ers this season.
