British Woman Mistaken for Auburn Player on Twitter Joins in on Signing Day Fun

Georgia v Auburn

Cases of athlete-related mistaken identity on Twitter are quite common. Usually it happens when fans, blinded by post-game rage, forget an underscore en masse and errantly send their barrage of death threats to a weather man or unsuspecting teen.

British woman Dee Ford (@dee_ford) is the latest victim, mistaken by Auburn football fans for linebacker Dee Ford (@dee_ford_). But instead of following the usual script and correcting her accidental followers, Ford has embraced the fame, becoming the biggest Tigers fan in Gillingham. She even live tweeted National Signing Day, picking up some high profile Auburn followers in the process.

Hard to tell whether Whiteside and Robinson are in on the joke, genuinely confused, or just coincidentally both big show dog fans.
