Good news: we can look forward to a remake of the 1989 Jean-Claude Van Damme movie Kickboxer. Better news:  this reboot will star UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and the WWE's Dave Bautista. Radar Pictures is producing the film alongside producer Ted Field, with renowned Chinese martial-arts film director Stephen Fung behind the camera.

According to Deadline:

The film follows David and Kurt Sloan, the descendants of a California dynasty of champions. After David wins the Karate World Championship, a promoter lures him to Hong Kong despite his brother’s protests. When David dies, Kurt turns to his former mentor Xian Chow to seek revenge on the viscous Tong Po.

Brian O'Shea's The Exchange will begin shopping the film to foreign buyers later this week at the Cannes Film Market.
