US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel calls Tim Howard to offer congrats
Apparently U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel took notice when his Wikipedia page was briefly updated this week to show U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard is the incumbent. On Wednesday, Hagel called Howard -- probably firstly to make sure he's not planning on running for office any time soon -- and thanked him for a job well done in Brazil.

Howard and the whole team got an invitation to visit the Pentagon, and Hagel said that with some training, Howard could perhaps one day become the real Secretary of Defense.
That, I can believe. Hagel with a World Cup record 16 saves on the other hand? Not so much.
Then again, if Hagel ever gets a shutout as a goalie, I'm coining his nickname now: Hagel the Bagel.
