Despite putting up monster numbers last season, Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty finished seventh in the Heisman Trophy voting. So today at the Big 12's media days, Baylor head coach Art Briles was asked why Petty's Heisman chances are better this year. Briles said that now people at the Dairy Queen in Salem, Oregon, know of Petty.
Briles, on why Petty has a better chance to win the Heisman this year: “Go to a Dairy Queen in Salem, Ore…” and they’ve heard of Petty — Jake Trotter (@Jake_Trotter) July 21, 2014
Well, one Oregon radio station decided to see if that was true.
A production assistant at Portland's 750 The Game called all six (six!) Dairy Queens in Salem to ask if they knew who Bryce Petty was.
It's unanimous: not a single employee of a Salem Dairy Queen knows who Bryce Petty is. Hopefully none of them has a Heisman vote.
