Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles ended his holdout today when he signed a contract extension. Charles is apparently happy with the new deal. He took to Twitter to make light of the situation.
I had no intention on holding out...I just ran out of gas on the way to camp and my cell phone battery died. It was a long walk I tell ya. — Jamaal Charles (@jcharles25) July 23, 2014
The new contract will pay Charles an additional $5 million this season. With that money, he could have afforded to call a cab. But honestly, it would have probably been faster if he just ran the rest of the way.
