Georgia wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell is in a book club made up of middle-aged women
University of Georgia wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell loves to read, so when he met a fellow bibliophile at a Barnes and Noble the two hit it off, which eventually led to Mitchell joining his new friends book club.
Kathy Rackley brought Mitchell to her book club despite the fact that the 22-year old was less than half the age of all of the other members, in addition to being the only man, according to a video about the book club on Georgia's website.
“My mom is going to hate me for saying this, but she’s 42. And everyone in the book club is older than my mom. Everyone. Some of them are older than my grandmother. And I’ve been adopted into their family.”
Rackley said she was not familiar with Mitchell's on-field exploits but asked some of her neighbors who are big football fans and they filled her in on the Bulldogs star.

Mitchell is currently recovering from a cartilage injury in his knee, so he will likely have plenty of time to read with his unlikely new friends in the coming weeks.
