Report: Brittney Griner attacked in China
Friday November 7th, 2014

Brittney Griner survived a scary moment in China earlier this week when she and three teammates were chased by a man with a knife. The WNBA star got away with a scratch that did not require a trip to the hospital, but she did lose her favorite coat.

The Phoenix Mercury center tweeted that she was both saddened by the loss of her Nike jacket and grateful that it gave her some added protection from the attacker.

Considering Griner is a Nike athlete, the company will probably happily send her a replacement coat, in addition to starting a new ad campaign for "The jacket that saved Brittney Griner!"
