The Calgary Stampeders won the 102nd playing of the Grey Cup over the weekend and the team got a little too excited while celebrating, leading to the trophy breaking.

Linebacker Juwan Simpson admitted to CBC Sports that he had separated the cup from its base while celebrating the victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

"I grabbed it and was excited, and all of a sudden, it got a little [loose.] Some glue and some duct tape and it'll be good. I don't know if I was holding it [when it broke] or I was holding it before it went off, but I felt it weaken in my hands — and I politely gave it to somebody else."

The trophy recently lost a handle as well when the Toronto Argonauts broke the trophy while celebrating in 2012.
