The Los Angeles Dodgers organization had a major scare on Thursday when beloved announcer Vin Scully realized he had lost his 1988 World Series ring while out shopping at Costco.

Luckily the ring was found a short time later, when Scully and his wife were unloading their groceries when Scully found the precious keepsake at the bottom of a bag of ribs.

It turns out Scully and his wife, Sandi, are big fans of the bulk buying chain, as the announcer relayed his love for the store to the Los Angeles Times.

"There's so much stuff there, stuff everywhere, the first couple of times I was a little intimidated," he said. "But it's become my home away from home."

The whole story is worth reading as it is filled with wonderful quotes from the legendary broadcaster about the lost ring ordeal, and his love of pushing a cart around Costco.
