Is this Kevin Durant's new Nike sneaker or an orthopedic device?

It's been a frustrating season for Kevin Durant, who has been limited by injuries and watched his team struggle. But at least he's kept his sense of humor.

Durant had a procedure on his foot Sunday to address irritation from a previous surgery. That means he has to ditch the fancy footwear for a bit and wear something a little more protective.

Durant posted a photo of his walking boot on Instagram and hinted that it might be a preview of Nike's KD 8. 

It's quite minimalist.
