Method Man warns Marcus Mariota about the Manziel jinx

Method Man got real with TMZ about Marcus Mariota, the Jets and why Johnny Manziel only has himself to blame for his misfortune.

Some years have passed since the Wu-Tang Clan was at its peak, but Method Man can still bring the ruckus. The Long Island native shared with TMZ on Thursday some this thoughts on the Jets's recent personnel moves and gave Marcus Mariota a frank warning about how to behave himself once he makes it to the NFL.

TMZ first asked him about New York's acquisition of former Buffalo and Houston quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, which the Wu-Tang member had mixed feelings about.

"Ryan Fitzpatrick is coming? Fitz? Bearded Fitz? I liked him when he was with Buffalo, I liked him last year, he had a pretty good season. He had a pretty good season. Fitz is up and down, but he’s coming to New York so I’m gonna give the benefit of the doubt," said Method Man.

He doubted, however, that any off-move could bring the Jets up to the Patriots's level.

"Nah, nah, nah, I’m sorry. I’m from Long Island, a Jets fan since I was yea-big, Bengals fan since I was yea-big…I don’t know, I don’t know. I root for the Jets every year as well as the Bengals, but I don’t know."

When TMZ asked him if he was upset that New York would now not pursue one of this year's draft's marquee quarterbacks — Marcus Mariota — Method Man was blunt.

"F--- Mariota. No, you know, Mariota, I wish you luck brother. Hopefully your first season’ll be aces, don’t do this [makes Johnny Manziel’s “Money Manziel” hand gesture] that’s a jinx alright? it’s a jinx."
