Foul balls are precious commodities in the eyes of baseball fans, as seen in the frequent scrums created when the souvenirs hit the stands.
One Cleveland Indians fan may be regretting his dedication to grabbing a free baseball though, as it not only cost him his beer, but also his phone.
In the bottom of the fourth inning of the Indian's 11–5 loss to the Kansas City Royals Tuesday, Brett Hayes fouled a pitch into an empty part of the stands, leading a fan to jump the railing to grab it, causing his phone to fly out of his pocket and his beer to crash to the ground.
Hopefully he has a strong phone case, as not many people would be willing to trade their cell for a used baseball.
