Patrick Sharp apparently has a big female fanbase in China
Things are going pretty well for Patrick Sharp.
His Chicago Blackhawks are in the Stanley Cup finals for the third time in six years, they have a 1–0 lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning and he learned Friday that he has an adoring fan base in China.
According to Sportsnet reporter Chris Johnston, the crew that is broadcasting the Stanley Cup final in China told Sharp that he's “got a lot of female admirers there.”
The news shouldn't exactly come as a surprise to Sharp, who was featured on the cover of the magazine Chicago in 2011 and named as one of their “50 Most Beautiful Chicagoans.”
You might think his wife, Abby, would have something to say about it, but judging by her reaction to the Chicago feature she probably isn't too bothered by his apparent admirers in China. Said Sharp at the time:
“She laughs and shakes her head. She says that people don’t know the real Patrick. She always says, “If people actually met you, you wouldn’t be getting all this kind of stuff.” She’s proud of it—I guess.”
