Watch: Female MMA fighter puts would-be robber in chokehold
Brazilian criminals beware: MMA fighter Monique Bastos will put you in a choke hold if you try to rob her.

According to MMAFighting.com, Bastos and two friends were walking to jiu-jitsu practice on Tuesday night in the city of Acailandia when two guys rolled up on a motorcycle and tried to snatch their phones.
“I was going to my jiu-jitsu training when they arrived on a motorcycle and said they wanted our phones,” Bastos told MMAFighting.com. “I tried to hold my phone, and I realized they were not armed. When they tried to escape, I lifted the rear wheel of the bike and they fell on the ground. The guy who took my phone ran away, but I was able to get the other one.”

Bastos was able to wrestle the guy to the ground and squeeze his neck between her legs until his face was as red as his shirt, and she did it with a smile on her face. She held him like that until the cops came to arrest him.
Bastos also told MMAFighting.com that she once had her phone stolen by two guys with knives, but she used her jiu-jitsu skills to take it back.
