Red Sox interim manager times workout perfectly, runs into Obama

Red Sox interim manager Torey Lovullo joked that he’d schedule his Tuesday workout for earlier in the morning in hopes of bumping into President Obama. He actually did it.

Either Boston Red Sox interim manager Torey Lovullo spends way too much time at the gym during the day, or he’s an incredible deviser.

The Red Sox are in town for a four-game set with the New York Yankees, and they’re staying in the same hotel as President Obama, who’s in the city for a U.N. meeting.

On Monday, Lovullo tried to bump into Obama, who he met after the team’s World Series title in 2013. He told reporters that he just missed him, and joked that he’d schedule his Tuesday workout for earlier in the morning in hopes of bumping into the president.

He did it.

Lovullo pumped iron with the president, and took a photo with him afterwards.

President Obama and the Boston Red Sox: reunited at last.
