Let’s use Google’s animal matchups to analyze college football games

On Friday, the SI offices were informed that if you typed in “cat vs. gator” or any other animal matchup into Google it would compare the two animals like a pre-fight tale of the tape.

With a full slate of college football games this weekend, Extra Mustard has decided to use this new tool to see how the teams (at least those with animal mascots) match up.

If you want winners picked by mascot, you will have to head over to our friends at SBNation, but if you would like to know what kind of weight advantage a bronco has over a hawk, we have got you covered, if you want actual meaningful college football coverage, try Campus Rush.

Kansas State vs. Texas

The Wildcats and Longhorns face off at 12 p.m. ET in Austin, with Texas carrying a serious weight advantage. Kansas State will be considerably more well rested though.

Auburn vs. Arkansas

This does not look to be a fair fight at all, with Auburn outclassing Arkansas in height, weight, tail length, and even gestation period. Things could get messy in Fayetteville.

Penn State vs. Maryland

At first glance you would assume Penn State would run away with this, but weight and length go to Maryland. A much more interesting match up than anticipated.

Washington State vs. Arizona

An all-feline battle in this Pac-12 matchup with Washington State looking to knock around the smaller, but still feisty Arizona team.

SMU vs. South Florida

SMU rides into South Florida looking for a second win this season, but its significant lifespan advantage won’t help when giving up over a half ton of weight to the Bulls.
