Boris Diaw famously doesn’t get off the ground much. The beefy forward isn’t the best leaper in the league, but he still has his eyes set on the skies.

Andrew Sharp has a profile of Diaw in this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated in which the Spurs fan favorite reveals that he wants to go to space. Yes, space.

“It‘s part of going everywhere,” Diaw says. “I say I want to discover everything? I don’t want to stop at planet Earth. One civilian paid $20 million and went to space. If it’s $20 million now, in 20 years it might be two. They already got SpaceX, they got Richard Branson. Why not? I would sign up.”

He’s scheduled to make $14 million over the next two years, so he had better start saving up or hope the price drops. More than the price, Diaw is probably more concerned with being able to bring his espresso machine on board the ship.

UPDATE: Yes, Diaw is actually weighing the quality of the coffee machines on spaceships.

We knew it.
