After Roman Reigns successfully defended the WWE Championship against AJ Styles at Extreme Rules on Sunday, Seth Rollins returned to the ring to attack the champion.

Rollins, a former member of the Shield, hit Reigns with a pedigree at the end of the event and lifted his title belt in the air.

Rollins has been out since November after tearing his right ACL at a WWE live event in Ireland, and was forced to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as a result.

About an hour after his return, he sent a note out to his fans.

Fellow WWE superstar John Cena is set to return on May 30.
