Star Wars Rogue One trailer debuts Thursday during NBC Olympics coverage

The much-anticipated second trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story debuts on Thursday during NBC’s coverage of the Olympics. 

If the Olympics are the biggest event of the summer, the release of the second trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story isn’t far behind. 

The first Rogue One trailer came out in April to much fanfare. The debuted Thursday night during NBC’s coverage of the Olympics in primetime. 

This isn’t the first time a Star Wars trailer has first aired during a sporting event. The third trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakensdebuted during a Monday Night Football broadcast on Disney-owned ESPN in October.

The film stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed. It is scheduled to be released on Dec. 16, 2016. The film is separate from the trilogy of sequels currently in development.
