Everton’s manager’s Christmas tree is a totally normal color but fans lost their minds

Everton fans were up in arms when they saw Ronald Koeman’s Christmas tree.

This is Ronald Koeman’s first year at the helm of Everton, so he’s still got a few things to learn.

Lesson No. 1: Don’t let anyone see you endorse the color red.

When Koeman posted a photo of his Christmas tree all decked out in red, Everton fans were up in arms. Red is the color universally associated with Christmas. But, of course, it’s also the color of mortal rival Liverpool.

It only took nine minutes before Koeman attempted to mitigate the backlash by posting a photo of his other tree.

He also told everybody to cool it.

Well, Ronald, maybe if you were higher than seventh place in the Premier League and fewer than 11 points behind the Reds, people would have gone easier on you.
