Tom Brady just landed the first Madden cover of his career

Yet another honor for Tom Brady to add to his resume.

Five Super Bowl rings, 12 Pro Bowls and two MVP awards. Tom Brady’s résumé is pretty impressive, but’s missing an honor bestowed on many of his peers—the cover of EA’s Madden NFL series. Well, Brady can scratch that one off the list, too.

Brady has just been announced as the cover athlete for Madden 18, following in the footsteps of Rob Gronkowski, who was on the cover last year. It’s the first time that EA has put teammates on the cover in consecutive years.

Fans will still have to wait a little while to get their hands on the game, which comes out on August 25. A few previews, including a new game mode, will be released on June 10. This year’s game will be the first one powered by EA’s Frostbite engine.

Brady also posted this Facebook video to announce the move.

“The Madden NFL 18 cover is a great honor for me,” Brady said in a statement. “Especially since I have been playing the game since growing up next to EA headquarters in the Bay Area. I'm not one to believe in curses, so I'm ready to take the challenge head on like always! It doesn't stand a chance!!!”
